Rena Midge is a popular imitation of an adult midge in Scandinavia. Originally this fly was designed to imitate an adult Caddis by Staffan Lindstrøm. This fly always lands and sits correctly on the water. You can use gel floatants such as TMC Dry Magic or CDC Gel on this fly. The fly has black body, white wing and the hackle is grizzly dyed dun. Imitations of midges are normally fished without drag, this fly imitates an adult sitting/resting at the surface. This fly floats well enough to be used in a dry & dropper rig. Add for example 50cm of tippet to the bend and put a buzzer in the end.
